Shooting Code

Safety at the Orston Shooting ground is paramount. All members and visitors must shoot responsibly and in a safe manner. Anyone shooting dangerously or acting in a manner that puts others at risk will be asked to leave.

Please observe these rules whilst visiting our ground which are really just common sense!

  • Only load your gun when about to shoot on a designated stand
  • Always unload your gun after shooting and whilst moving between stands
  • Never leave a loaded gun unattended
  • Never mix smaller gauge cartridges with larger ones (e.g. 20 and 12 bore)
  • Never point a gun at a person (even in jest)
  • Never go near to or operate a clay pigeon trap
  • Shooting at live quarry is not allowed on the ground
  • Always obey safety signs and instructions given by members of staff
  • Wear ear protection when shooting - it makes sense

Thank you
